Ameya S. Pendse is an Attorney-at-Law licensed to practice in the States of New Jersey, New York, Texas, North Carolina, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada. He practices U.S. Immigration & Nationality Law, U.S. Franchise Law as well as Canadian Immigration Law.
Ameya regularly deals with a variety of family-based immigration issues such as Adjustment of Status (Green Card applications), sponsoring relatives, and Citizenship applications. Having lived and studied in the United States, Canada, and Israel, Ameya understands the importance of having legal status in the country of your residence. During law school, Ameya clerked with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has also clerked with both boutique and large immigration law firms in New York City and New Jersey. He was also the Founder and President of the Immigration Law Students Association at Seton Hall Law School and also participated in the Law School's Immigrant's Rights Legal Clinic. In addition to being an attorney in the United States, Ameya is also a Barrister & Solicitor in Ontario, Canada. As a Canadian Lawyer, Ameya is able to to represent clients throughout the Canadian Immigration process. Prior to being called to the Bar in Ontario, Ameya was a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
During his Master of Laws degree at Tel Aviv University, Ameya specialized in Business Law with a specific focus in international franchising. His Master's dissertation, Achieving Uniform Franchise Disclosure Documents: A Regional Solution, analyzed the United States Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) in a comparative context with various other disclosure regimes around the world. Ameya now regularly represents clients throughout the franchise process, including FDD review and negotiation and has successfully negotiated changes of FDD terms with both international and multinational franchisors. He has represented clients seeking single-unit, multi-unit, area-development, and master-franchise opportunities.
